Science fiction puddles
Whodunit tattoos
Old pants
Pathos
Coffee grinder

To sit quietly
And remember
The shadows of the heart.
A sea above the stars.
Till you are nothing more
Than a memory yourself.
You are at sea
And above
The stars.

To sit quietly
And remember
The shadows of the heart.
A sea above the stars.
Till you are nothing more

And above
The stars.
Excellent imagery. The second segment is both beautiful and moving. Great work!

tantalizing images lead into this unexpected, poignant little narrative; strangely appealing —

Lovely! You deleted a segment since I first looked at it. I wonder why. I hope the segment you deleted might reappear as a poem on its own. I do think these two stand alone well. The ideas are more obviously linked than in some of your work. For me this part is outstanding.

Thank you! Yes, I did delete a third part. I wasn’t sure about it. And I’m always self conscious. So I decided to play around with it some more before posting it. Thank you again. I’m glad you liked it.

The first stanza is my favourite, especially the lines “Science fiction puddles / whodunnit tattoos.”
