So it Seams

The tightrope artist is string theory.

It could go either way,

That’s what makes it a fact.

~

Even metaphysics gets shin splints.

But infinity can never touch its toes.

~

In bed, I move the
Curtain with my foot.

The cat is on the porch roof, through
A tear in the screen.

Suddenly reality
Surpasses my sense
Of being.

Blood samples were taken.
The sun drank something of the moon.

~

And though it seams,

It blisters with gold.

  1. great imagery, Bob esp with the shin splints and the sun blistering with gold; good to see you back at work; better get that cat down before a thunderstorm brews; some cats are clever at getting up but not in getting down which reminds me ….

  2. This is distilled goodness in every line, Bob 🙂 Though some of them make my mind boggle. Love the opening stanza, so clever! And the title (did you mean ‘sew’ in the ‘so’ too?)

I don’t know why I love this line: “In bed, I move the / Curtain with my foot.” Like you’re in recovery and that’s all you can manage but it’s still a feat (no pun intended) – does that make sense?

Though I sincerely hope you are in good health! 🙂

    1. Thanks Sunra! I didn’t mean the pun on so/sew, but I’m glad you did. It makes the title so much better. The feet/feat pun is really good too. I’m really glad you read into this poem in this way. It does make it better. I hope all is well with you!
