Welcomes even the most foolish of sunbeams.
Planets are information. Information spins.
The grain of these walks
Like cloud-work in the unfurling leaves.
There are no economic reductions.
The stars heed even the
Jellyfish in the sea.
Silence ends in the noise
Of nothing at all.
Again and again, the moon holds its weight
Above the city lights, a wanderer too.
The revolution cannot be solved for.
Dreams sweep away data.
I like that line : ‘stars heed even the/ jellyfish in the sea’: the conundrum of the cosmos: how everything from the minuscule to the gargantuan is connected —

Thanks John. I agree, I really like connecting those elements. The minuscule and gargantuan. There’s some feeling of connectedness there.

Wow, Bob. I’ve read this 3 times. I feel like it carries me in … to both the infinite and the miniscule. All the information of the universe sweeping in and out like breaths. That’s how it feels to me.
Or like waves under the pregnant moon. Wonderful!

Thanks Worms! There is something about connecting the very large and very small that works for me. Thank you for the wonderful comment.

Wonderful! “Planets are information. Information spins.” I’ll reflect on that for awhile.

Thank you so much! It’s all changing, spinning.

I like the idea that every entity on earth is almost like a planet unto itself. A kind of sea of information that’s always in flux.

I agree. That’s a really great point to make. And we are all spinning. And all full of information unique to us.

I had a blast reading this, the way you capture the massive and the small in the same sentence takes me out of my head. And wow, the way you started the poem off “Planets are information. Information spins.”……and then ended the poem with “Dreams sweep away data”…..to me, it’s kind of like saying dreams are the ace in the deck, ace being the high card or maybe I messed up the meaning, but man oh man, do I love dreams.

Thanks Steve. Yea, it’s kinda like the ace. Dreams clear away the old cluttered data. Hopefully leaving us with the possibility of new data. Like the ace in the deck.

I really enjoyed how your poem looks back and forth, from Earth-bound (jellyfish, city lights) to space-spotted (stars, moon). And back and forth from information to dreams sweeping that away. Your poem spins in a fantastic way. 🙂

Thanks so much Dave. I like to tie in, as you say, earth-bound and space-spotted. Makes me feel connected. I’m glad you like this one!

Jellyfish is such an apt description for what may be lifeless or life destroying, those tiny lighthouses so far away.

Thanks! I love that idea of tiny lighthouses.
