So much going on all the time and so much of it at the same time, the molecules and atoms crahing into each other…..and then BAM! you hit us with the last two lines, that question about love, once again catching me the reader totally off guard and it’s just so damn wonderful Bob. Great work as always. I’m now tempted to send an email to a girl who hasn’t responded to my emails for two months, but she did once say to me “don’t give up on me.” I now like thinking the situation is spiral galaxies.
I love what you said about so much going on and so much of it. It reminds me of the end of On The Road, “So in America when the sun goes down and I sit on the old broken-down river pier watching the long, long skies over New Jersey and sense all that raw land that rolls in one unbelievable huge bulge over to the West Coast, and all that road going, and all the people dreaming in the immensity of it…” Thanks Steve!
I copied and pasted the Kerouac quote and saved it in a word document and will then write it down and reread ON THE ROAD to find the quote. Thanks Bob.
What a great question! Beautiful.

I need to be reminded of how great it was and how greater it can be.

Like a romantic movie with physicists … and I imagined atoms dancing in a spiral. Thanks for the imaginative trip 🙂

Sheer and utter atrophy, that’s what. Thank goodness we’re going in circles. Very thought-provoking.
