I ranged
I mapped crescents
Abolished the number one
Ridiculous poetry
On imaginary stilts
In a suit of daffodils
Hurdles an inchworm
And chews on Saturn's rings
Suddenly here
Is everywhere
For all of us
I plant a tree
First its shadow
Then its velocity
See you there!
You are back with a banger poem! And now we all know where you have been – you mapped crescents of course!!

I am still absorbing … the mapped crescent and the velocity of the planted tree (or perhaps its shadow?). I can picture the poem in its suit of daffodils. It teeters and swallows and brings everywhere to the masses. Amazing.

love the invite at the end: the bravado, the confidence; you’ve inspired a poem, Bob: going up in a day or two 🙂

Welcome back! Great poem as usual. I liked the line “Abolished the number one.” It brings to mind the old song, One is the Loneliest Number.

Excuse me in advance for my tangents and misreads, but it’s your fault Bob for inspiring so much thought and wonder and beautiful confusion. Now, on to “mapping crescents and abolishing number one” suggests, to me anyway, a new road, reviving an old one, in the skies, the stars and crescent moons and tides and patterns and nature. But then what do I know and you answer my own overly serious question with humor – “Ridicilious poetry” and is there any better place than “suddenly here”…….I know of no better place than here. Welcome back Bob.

Thanks Steve. I agree, no better place then here. And I really like the idea of being ridiculous in a good way. Doesn’t let the seriousness of life’s grind to get at you as much. Really glad you like this one, and it’s good to be back.
