I haven’t posted in some time. I think it’s time to take a break. Looking forward to catching up on everyone’s wonderful poems/blogs when I get back. Just been kind of stuck on what to do next. Going to take some time to work on trying some new ideas.
Here’s a fragment I’ve been working on that needs some direction. I’m not really sure what though:
It was when the woods walked in you.
It was when the words read back.
This fragment has me stuck as well:
Postcards are telepathy
Dressed up
Like statuettes in a fountain.
Bronze for hairpins.
Postcards are whereabouts
Hitching a ride
Like guitar strings by the sea.
A whodunit
For a soul.
Enjoy your break! I hope you’re blessed with inspiration!

These are promising fragments, especially the second one. Good luck getting unstuck.

I prefer the final…”stanza”. A whodunit, laid bare.

i remember getting blisters on one of my fingers from holding the pencils too tight. Remember how they made us buy specific pencils like they had to be Mead #2 or something like that. And then there were trapper keepers…..a good name and girls would put pictures of their favorite pop star on the front or Adam Ant and here i am babbling on and on wishing you were still writing poems.

Thanks, Steve! That’s really nice to say. I remember wrapping up our school books in brown paper from grocery bags. And drawing all over them our favorite bands and sports team logos. I’ll be emailing.
