  1. there’s a lot packed into this little poem, Bob, and I’m still unpacking it; the imagery is wonderful ; I like that self is ‘cosmically real’ ; it gives us an importance in ‘the grand scheme of things’ —

  2. That “fictitious as thunder” line has my mind clapping, pun intended, that clap of thunder, that reminder to not take myself so seriously, to get out of the head and out into….well, everything else because even though I know nothing lasts forever as you wonderfully point out out with, “Between the fingertips of the moon,” I tend to forget this fact and in doing so, I forget the “contest” between the two, that knowing we’re gonna die and yet making the most of every moment anyway as I lazily get out of bed at 10 a.m. Missed half the god damn morning!

    1. It’s tough some days. But as transient as this is, you got to make the most of it. Though that’s often easier said than done. I’m coming around the cool autumn days, think I’ll take a quick walk.

      1. A seductive epitaph – “got to make the most it” that sure beats my present state of self loathing from being out of work, the war scaring me, and that i can’t get out of bed. I think I’ll take your inspiration and try and wake up earlier tomorrow amidst the weed, booze, ativan hangover and walk for a couple of hours or at least that’s my goal.

      2. I’m sorry to hear about your job. I hope all is well. Walking has often helped me. And I’m coming around the colder weather, though I would prefer summer back.
