  1. I love it how things that happen to us during the day are like scraps for dreams. It’s like an old movie house with no charge for admission. I miss grasshoppers or maybe I shouldn’t? But if I remember right, they don’t bother us too much. We get too close and they go away. I enjoy them as you said, “like a highway with a half-moon As antenna.” I never know where they’re jumping or hopping to.

  2. was this written on a hot august night? fecund with creativity, scrimmaging dreams which all surrealists do, and the grasping of images: the coneflower on its stalk, and that half moon over the highway like an antenna which I saw one night coming home from Fellowship but was at a loss what to do with it: you found a way !
