Like spray paint on brick, the tulips are favored
By the stars,
For example, the stars dream of tulips,
A sea of tulips with rings around them like a gas giant.
A ghost severed of feet foots the bill
In this dream, though for hiding spots
Dilute some poetry with water and scrub.
The stars are more common
Than restaurant spoons.
But the world has stashed away
Something without measure
We long to get back.
As for a cup, the universe curves about right.
There’s always so much to unpack in your poems and to simply enjoy the way you use language. Many lines to choose from here….”The stars are more common Than restaurant spoons” is both funny and true and what a thought, to suddenly tune into the endless universe. Magic word arrangement!

Haha. I agree, the restaurant spoons is both funny and true. Life’s kind of beautiful and absurd and the same time. Even the Sabres are sitting in a playoff spot, which probably won’t last, but that’s sports. I’m gad you liked this one!!

Last night I had a dream that Jackson Churrio of the Brewers hit a home run. I guess I already miss baseball. Maybe, I’ll watch some hockey this season. Go Sabres!

Last night’s Sabres games was on the west coast, so at 11:30 losing 2-0 I went to bed. Though I couldn’t sleep. So I came down and turned the games back on. There was 3 minutes left in the game. And the Sabres had tied it. They went on to win in overtime. Then I really couldn’t sleep. I’m hoping the time flies for you and baseball season comes fast. Go Brewers!

It’s like you had a 6th sense of the Sabres comeback and couldn’t sleep. That’s a fan if there ever was one. A morbid similarity was when my great aunt had a dream that her sister, my grandma had died and sure enough she had died that same night.

They won last night too. Cautiously optimistic.

Alright! I grew up with cautious optimism, my dad being from Boston, growing up before all their World Series wins.
