Summertime flying saucers
And melancholy postcards.
Ice cream cones and
Rain puddles.
However briefly
And in this passing,
I pass too,
Is how I’d like to stay.
One’s stake in the world
Like fire dancing over ice.
Our first love poems
Bulit on breaths of sweet air.
Always and always
The roam of brain,
The investigating moon,
Notes in the seawater.
brilliant, Bob: lyrical and surreal: you are back to your best !!!! this one skips, this one sings, this one you could line dance to — ‘the roam of rain, the investigating moon, notes in the seawater’ and that title! I’m swept away, Bob, at this joyous return to form —

Thanks John! The last post felt a bit rushed/needing more work. But I felt good about this one. Let those surreal images roll!

Thanks Rajani. A bit of a melancholy turn there.

I’ll echo (echo…. echo… ) John’s comment: you’ve hit your stride with this poem. I thought of an amusement park by the beach, the lights of the rides, the moon gazing down, the music of waves. Thanks for inspiring a flying saucer ride into my memories 🙂

Thanks Dave. I’m glad you enjoyed this one. I’ve watched a lot of UFO movies, and they never seem to arrive in the winter!

Man oh summer Mangoes this is perfect timing in that it’s -6 here, but I’m inspired to take a walk anyway in the slim chance there’s a winter flying saucer. Ha! No, but seriously, this is awesome. Has that walking with a girl, loose, alive, paradise, holding hands like along the ocean and Coney Island amusement park which reminds me they having batting cages there. Have a great weekend Bob. I got my mind on the Bills winning!!

Thanks Steve. It’s still really cold here too. Not as bad as the last few days. The stress of watching the Bills is tangible. But loving this team.

Strange day today. The weather station says it’s below zero here, but it feels ok so I took a walk. I ain’t complaining.
I get the sense that if the Bills win tomorrow, the super bowl will be a cake walk for them. I’ve also heard from a reliable football fan that Mahomes gets a lot of calls because he’s Mahomes…..like on a blitz, a linebacker barely touches him and the ref calls a roughing the passer.
