Poem

If you find me flattering. Take that!
If you find the universe boundless. Take me with you!
If you find me kind. Study disheveledness.
If you find me asleep. Wake me up. What’s the difference?
If the cause is plain. And the outcome complex. Can I ride shotgun?

An almost neurotic need to start over and walk
Away from all these muddled manifestations
So I may join other muddled manifestations
In my washing machine washed socks
Bright as fiction and sturdy as butterflies
At a construction site.

Once ever one billion years the moon
Blows its spout and takes in new air.

  1. If I find this poem fun and inspiring then please let me do some explaining. “Once ever one billion years the moon Blows its spout and takes in new air.” And for me that’s the best news in the world, to do like the moon and take in this new air every day and also you saying “an almost neurotic need to start over and walk,” wonderful! though we’re expecting another foot of snow today.

    1. Thanks Steve. Like the moon, I’m itching to take in new air. We are getting more snow today too. And this has been a really bad February. We had a couple of days of rain, that immediately turned to ice. I swear I can ice skate down my street. So I haven’t been out walking in two weeks. At least I’m catching up on some movies I’ve been meaning to watch.

      1. Massive winds and snow for both Buffalo and Montreal. It wouldn’t matter to me, but I’m at my girlfriend’s place so I have to shovel the damn snow plus tomorrow morning, I planned on visiting the weed and booze store and the winds are supposed to 50-60 km an hour, but I must carry on in order to be buzzed tomorrow afternoon and evening. Sometimes, like right now, I wish I lived in San Diego.

      2. Then we are in the same boat. I’m just hoping work closes. But I’m not counting on that. Yes, San Diego would be nice right now. Heck, if it go into the 40’s I ‘d consider it a heat wave. Hopefully you don’t have too far to walk to the weed store.

      3. Takes me 15 minutes to the booze store and another 20 to the weed store, but I just found a sweater and a scarf so I’m going for it. Yes, I agree, 40 would be excellent! I wonder sometimes if people who live in year round warm climates are more pissed off than four season climate people because here in the north east we get a variety which seems more to mirror moods. I don’t know. I do prefer snow over rain.

      4. The movie was pretty good. A romantic comedy. I like Cary Grant, so I had to watch. But that was a really cool scene. I didn’t expect to see that when I started watching.
