The irony of turtles
Is jellyfish prose
Like a filibustering moon
Roundabouting a dream
In the driveway the cat
Asleep next to the oil splotch
An alliteration of reptiles
Sings Rocketman
Poetry toasts
The aria of balloons
In the hourglass
Too is infinity
Abstract indeed …and whatnot fits perfectly, …👏

wonderfully surreal and buoyant ; great opening lines I am still pondering: something magic —– and the ‘aria of balloons’; damn it. I’m going to bookmark this one 🙂

Man, it just never ends, that river, until a drought and there is no drought anywhere near here. I’m blown away again by your lines….and you must get tired of hearing all this praise, but the way you combine words and how it all works out and leaves us, not with answers, but more to wonder about like that snoopy atop the doghouse you mentioned the other night. Yeh, the words, your words and your poems aren’t sentimental or tired, they are shocking!

Thanks Steve! That’s awesome of you to say. I really appreciate that. Someday I’ll be on that doghouse. I really like that you said shocking. Thanks again!!
Oh, and by the way, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JMpHyKcTAVc. The Bandits won the championship.

Oh, that’s awesome that they won! Thanks for sending the video. I probably sound like the typical amateur Lacrosse fan, but I had a hard time following the ball. Ditto for hockey and the puck, but it could be my eyes too. Getting old and the eyesight ain’t what it used to be, but anyway, I plan on watching this Lacrosse sport going forward and hockey too.

I believe lacrosse will be in the next summer Olympics for the first time

I like the idea of a filibustering moon… so the sun is kept out and the night just goes on and on…. 🙂

I hadn’t thought of that. Love the idea. Thanks!

The images in this poem and the way they’re woven together remind me of a surreal painting. Beautiful work!

Whatnot is the perfect title. The unrelated linked together to create a perfect “painting” of the everyday. Great job.

It’s like I’m sitting in the audience and watching a surrealistic variety show. I applaud these various acts! I’m picturing the singing reptiles, and they inspire smiles 🙂
