Abstract sandwiches
Are baloney.
The ping pong playing peonies
Of electric yesterdays.
Distance is simple.
It smells feral and wears the sky on its head.
Rayguns and eyebrows
Volcanoes and arrows.
Apple unicycle bird
Barbarian heyday song.
A silly sleep of fire
Turning over like a dream.
The sun is a handkerchief
And badly in need of some tattoos.
This isn’t funny
But almost hilarious.
Writing love themes
For the galaxy.
i guess the sun will disappear at some point, no? and maybe all the planets too and they’ll just be darkness which i love sometimes…..makes things seem super colorful when coming out of a cave after three days.
may it always not be funny and instead as you say be hilarious….”those love themes for the galaxy”—-what a brilliant thought Bob.

I think we got about 4 billion years left before our sun becomes a red giant. And that will be that around here. But maybe we’ll have made it to other suns?? Glad you liked the love themes for the galaxy.

Definitely bizarre to be alive. And the time scales of stars is just insane.

i always liked that walk on water idea and think of it as good for all climates in that he coulda slide across the ice in nunavut too, but seriously, i love that we create these elaborate mythologies because i guess those are the original stories and then fiction and poetry grew out of those or maybe the first ever book was a book of poems in some heavily coded language that only a few understood and then as time went on the original message was lost but the poem continued in thousands of languages, but the world was created by letters like the ones with multiple tentacles waved fire into reality or something like that. it’s fun to do this.

Verse 3 is standout for me! And the opening is great too. And I also love the last 4 stanzas, especially “A silly sleep of fire/ turning over like a dream”

Thank you! I think maybe the galaxy wouldn’t mind a few love themes directed its way. 😊

But are baloney sandwiches abstract?

Haha! That put a big smile on my face. And I think maybe baloney is abstract…it certainly isn’t too natural.
