In Pencil

Can one scamper like a calligraphist

In a snowstorm?

Or close the door on the trespasses

Of a capitalist?

How many brain cells are reborn just listening

To the natural world around us?

The number of footsteps does it take

For a catharsis

Asked the walking part of the soul?

Does it

Amount to all the it can strain

And more so?

  1. i’m convinced there is some acupuncture point or points on the bottoms of our feet that shoot sparks up our spine into our mind. I went to an acupuncture once and felt a little lighter like my body wasn’t such a haul to drag around. i’m not overweight but as i’ve gotten older, well, you know how that is.

    1. I think walking does hit something like acupuncture points. Especially bare foot if you can do it. I tried acupuncture once too, felt good briefly then faded. Maybe if you went on a regular basis it would help more.
