    1. Of course I’ve written one without knowing it. But I have been working on one for you, though it’s not the right syllables:

      A walk off haiku

      Rounds the bases home
Like autumn and like lost love
      Till next season

      1. Nice one! Both tragic and optimistic, end of one baseball season and simultaneously looking ahead to the next one in a 5-7-4 syllable sequence which in baseball scoring is unique, third basemen (5) turns and throws the ball to the left fielder (7) which seduces the baserunner to try and advance 90 feet, but he’s tagged out by the second baseman (4). Thanks Bob!
